Simple Dark Chocolate Brownies

These Simple Dark Chocolate Brownies are an intense rich chocolate dessert served with a silky layer of chocolate ganache!

Ingredients

Ganache:

  • 6 oz. dark chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Grease or line a 9 x 13 inch pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Melt butter in a large pot over low heat, whisk in sugars and vanilla until fully combined.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  • Whisk in the cocoa powder, followed by the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt, then mix until smooth. Add in chocolate chips.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 35 to 45 minutes until toothpick comes clean from center.
  • Leave brownies in pan to cool or remove them by picking them up using the edges of the parchment paper and transfer to a cooling rack.
  • Prepare ganache by chopping the chocolate and placing it in a medium sized bowl. Heat heavy cream until it begins to simmer, then pour it over the chocolate a let it set for 3 to 4 minutes. Then whisk until a rich ganache forms. Spread over brownies and top with chocolate shavings.
