This Homemade Applesauce recipe is delicious and super easy to make! Made with apples, white and brown sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, and lemon juice, it’s the perfect way to enjoy fresh-picked apples.
Combined all ingredients together in a large slow cooker and cook over low heat for 6 to 7 hours, stirring occasionally.
Remove cinnamon sticks and transfer the applesauce to a container to cool in the fridge. Enjoy alone, as a side, or as a component in another recipe.
Notes
If you do not have cinnamon sticks on hand, you can substitute with 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon to taste.
I prefer my applesauce to be a bit hearty, but if you like yours really smooth, almost like apple butter, I recommend using a stick blender to blend it after it's done cooking.
