Homemade Banana Syrup for coffee brings rich banana bread flavor to your favorite lattes and iced coffees! Made with simple ingredients and no artificial flavoring, this easy coffee syrup turns every at-home coffee drink into a cozy café-style treat.

Instructions

  • Add 1 tablespoon salted butter to a large skillet and melt over medium heat.
  • Add 2 overripe bananas and mash with a fork or potato masher.
  • Stir in 1 cup water, 1 cup light brown sugar, 1 teaspoon fine sea salt, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon and bring to a low simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste.
  • Leave as is or add to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Use immediately or transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • For the best flavor, use bananas with some browning on them; these will be sweeter and give a stronger banana flavor in the syrup.
