Breakfast Sliders pile all of your favorite breakfast foods onto Hawaiian dinner rolls for a tasty dish that starts your day off satisfied! Made with eggs, cheese, bacon, and sausage in just 45 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 20 ounces pork sausage
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 8 large eggs
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon green onions or chives
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 12 Hawaiian dinner rolls
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 5 tablespoons salted butter divided
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Spread the pork sausage onto a 9x13-inch baking pan and form it into a rectangle a little larger than the size of your dinner rolls rectangle. It will shrink down while cooking. Bake this for 25 minutes or until cooked through.
  • While this is cooking, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay the strips of bacon on the sheet. Bake this for 10 minutes or until crispy.
  • Whisk the eggs together with the milk, green onion, and pepper. Melt 1 Tablespoon of the butter in a skillet and pour in the egg mixture. Stir often with a rubber spatula until the eggs are scrambled and fluffy.
  • Keep the dinner rolls attached in one block. Slice through the whole block to create and top and bottom layer. Place the bottom of the buns onto a 9x13-inch baking pan. Set the tops aside.
  • Once the sausage, bacon, and eggs are cooked, you can assemble the sliders.
  • Sprinkle 2 cups of shredded cheese evenly over the bottom buns.
  • Transfer the large sausage patty (as one large piece if possible) onto the cheese layer.
  • Add the scrambled eggs over the sausage. Crumble the bacon and sprinkle this over the eggs. Then sprinkle the remaining cheese over the bacon.
  • Place the bun tops on the layer of cheese.
  • Melt the remaining 4 tablespoons of butter and stir in the 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. Brush this mixture over the buns.
  • Bake the sliders for 10 to 15 minutes or until the tops are golden.

Notes

  • What’s The Best Way To Store Any Leftover Breakfast Sliders? Wrap leftovers up with plastic wrap or place them in an airtight container. Then store them in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. You could also store them in the freezer for up to 2 months.
  • How Do I Reheat The Leftovers? I find these reheat well in the microwave. If reheating from the refrigerator they’ll only take about 30 seconds to reheat. From frozen they’ll take about a minute.
  • Can I Bake The Eggs In The Oven Too? Of course! To start, rub a tablespoon of butter all over the bottom and sides of a 9X9 baking dish. Then whisk the eggs, milk, chives, and pepper together and pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. The eggs can then go into the oven at 350 degrees F along with the sausage. However, the eggs need just up to 10 minutes to bake until they’re set.
  • Should I Add Salt To The Eggs? Between the butter, sausage, and bacon I find that there’s enough salt in the sliders. If you’d like you could always have salt available while serving so people could add more if they’d like.
  • What Can I Use If I Don’t Have Maple Syrup? These Breakfast Sliders are just as tasty without maple syrup, so no worries! However, if you’re still wanting a little something sweet you can use pancake syrup or even honey instead.
  • Instead Of Ground Pork Sausage Can I Use Sausage Patties? I like the ground pork sausage because I can cook it in a block, leaving no spaces in the sliders. But yes, the patties would work just fine as well! Just cook the patties and then place them evenly in a layer over the cheese. Another sausage option would be scramble frying it up on the stovetop and then sprinkling it over the cheese.
  • Can I Leave The Bacon Or Sausage Out Of This Recipe For Less Meat? Of course! Make these sliders exactly how you want.
