How To Make Strawberry Puree is an easy recipe that can be used for anything from dessert or breakfast toppings to mixing into cocktails! Takes just 5 minutes to prep!

Ingredients

Strawberry Puree

  • 4 cups strawberries fresh or frozen (thawed)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Slice the stems off of the strawberries and add them to a medium pot with the sugar and lemon juice.
4 cups strawberries, ¼ cup granulated sugar, 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring often to avoid boiling. Once the mixture begins to simmer, reduce heat to medium-low.
  • Allow the strawberries to cook and break down for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring frequently. Allow this mixture to reduce to about half. Use an emulsion blender if you like the puree to be smoother.
  • Once the reduction is finished, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool to room temperature before using.

Notes

  • Can I Use This In Recipes That Call For Strawberry Simple Syrup? This puree is thicker than simple syrup, however, it can be used in drinks interchangeably. You’ll just want to blend them into a finer Strawberry Syrup. To do this you can use an immersion blender, a regular blender, or a food processor.
  • How Do I Store This Homemade Puree? Store the puree in an airtight container or a mason jar in the refrigerator. Enjoy the Strawberry Puree for up to 5 days.
  • Can I Freeze The Leftovers? You sure can! In fact, I love making a large batch to freeze and use for convivence when I need it! To do so just follow the recipe instructions and then allow the puree to completely cool. Then pour the puree into ice cube trays and freeze. Afterward, pop the frozen blocks of puree out of the tray. Then place them in a freezer bag for easier storing. The ice cube trick is great for portioning it out to use a little at a time when needed! If you prefer, you can freeze it all in an airtight container.
