This Hard Tequila Lemonade is the ultimate summer cocktail! It’s fresh, thirst-quenching, and downright tasty with a little kick!
I’m pretty sure that almost everyone over the age of 21 has had a hard lemonade, except maybe my grandfather. But I’m also pretty sure that most of us have only had it from a bottle with a vodka base and have never made it fresh, at home, with a quality tequila like Altos. So when life gives you lemons, grab the tequila and make this Hard Tequila Lemonade for your next get together or a quiet night at home.
But let me assure you, that’s the only way you should have a hard lemonade because it has more flavor and body than anything you’re going to find in the coolers at the grocery store. I’ve taken my homemade lemonade recipe and given it a little kick with the silver tequila. It melds with the tart lemons for a smooth summer sip!
I’m a bit of a lemonade lover during the summer months! When I was a kid, it was not unusual to see me running around with a lemon wedge in my mouth the way most kids do with oranges, I’d do it still, but apparently, some people think it’s weird. 😉
My brothers and I were all like that with lemons; I guess you could say we started out a little tart, though I’m sure our parents had other words to describe our stubborn, independent, and sarcastic personalities.
Nowadays, I’m all about throwing my love of lemons into my food and drinks like these Lemon Cheesecake Crepes or this cocktail! The key to a great lemonade, in general, is real granulated sugar. That’s right, even simple syrup won’t quite do, you’re going to have to shake all the goodness together for the sugar to dissolve into a handcrafted Tequila Lemonade cocktail you’ll want to make again and again!

Nice! I make a very similar version of this recipe. I use perrier or club soda instead of regular water and I use agave syrup instead of simple syrup.
