Rebecca’s Recipe Review
Taste: Warm, cozy banana flavor with notes of cinnamon and vanilla. Think banana bread flavor!
Texture: When blended, this syrup turns out thick and slightly creamy; when strained, the syrup has a thinner consistency.
Ease: 2/10
Pros: Way better than store-bought, no artificial banana flavor, and makes enough for more than one banana bread latte!
Cons: This syrup does need to be made ahead of time when making a latte. I suggest making a batch to store in the fridge to enjoy all week!

Enjoy as is or transfer to a blender to make it smooth.
Once cooled, transfer to a jar or bottle and store in the fridge.
Rebecca’s Banana Syrup Tips
- For the best banana bread flavor, use bananas with a bit of browning or spotting. This will give the syrup a sweeter, stronger banana-bread flavor.
- You can mash the bananas in the skillet or in a bowl and then add the mashed banana to the skillet. I found that a potato masher works really well to break the banana down!
- If you’d like, you can pour the syrup through a fine mesh sieve to strain the chunks out of the syrup; however, you do lose a bit of flavor with this method.
- For a smooth, thicker syrup, add the cooled syrup mixture to a blender and blend until smooth.
- If you cook the syrup down too much and it becomes too thick, you can whisk in additional water one tablespoon at a time to thin it out.

How To Store Homemade Banana Syrup
Allow the banana syrup to cool and then transfer it into a jar with a lid, such as a mason jar. Then store the homemade syrup in the fridge to use for up to 2 weeks.
