The Viral Fluffy Seagull Latte Has Taken Off

If you’re on the coffee side of TikTok, then you already know there’s always a new coffee recipe brewing around every scroll. This time, we have Lighthouse Keeper’s Pantry in Yarmouth Port, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, to thank for gifting us this childhood nostalgic viral coffee recipe!

Childhood nostalgia, if you’re from New England, that is. In New England, peanut butter and fluff sandwiches (fluffernutter) were a childhood staple. That salty-sweet delicacy graced our lunch plates weekly, and we never complained!

So, when I saw this Fluffy Seagull Latte taking flight all over the internet, I knew I needed to try it! The latte has a subtle peanut butter flavor that combines with the sweetness of the marshmallow fluff to create a drink that isn’t overly sweet yet has a perfectly balanced flavor!

Rebecca’s Recipe Review

Taste: Coffee with the essence of a fluffernutter sandwich.

Texture: Creamy with a thick mouthfeel.

Ease: 3/10

Pros: Easy to make and super delicious!

Cons: The calories – just don’t look… mmmkay?

Ingredients to make a fluffy latte inspired by the fluffy seagull in cape cod.

Fluffy Latte Ingredients

This Fluffy Latte begins the same as the nostalgic childhood New England sandwich, peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. The fluff is spread on the cup while the peanut butter combines with light brown sugar and salt to have espresso brewed over the top.

The peanut butter espresso mixture is then poured over ice in a glass with the milk of your choice. We then top this Fluffy Seagull Latte with a homemade marshmallow cold foam that’s made with heavy cream, milk, marshmallow fluff, and salt.

The finishing touch? A sprinkle of nutter butter cookie crumbs on top!

Look for Marshmallow Fluff or Jet-Puffed Marshmallow Creme near the peanut butter and jelly in your local grocery stores.

How To Make A Fluffy Latte

  1. Spread marshmallow fluff around the inside of a glass and then fill it with ice.
  2. Add peanut butter, light brown sugar, and salt to a glass. Then brew espresso over the mixture in the glass.
  3. Froth the espresso mixture using a hand frother until the peanut butter and sugar have fully dissolved.
  4. Pour the espresso into the glass over ice and then add milk on top.
  5. Prepare the cold foam by combining heavy cream, milk, marshmallow fluff, and a pinch of salt to a glass. Whip this mixture with a hand frother until it becomes thick and fluffy.
  6. Top the Fluffy Latte with the homemade cold foam and sprinkle it with nutter butter crumbs. Serve and enjoy!

Rebecca’s Tips

  • I don’t recommend using peanut butter flavor syrup in place of real peanut butter. We tested this recipe with the DaVinci brand syrup and it didn’t taste like peanut butter at all.
  • When making this recipe, I like using these Disposable Cups for an easier clean up!
  • Feel free to smear as much or as little marshmallow fluff onto the inside of your cup as you prefer. I like spreading the fluff in a way that allows the coffee to still peak through!
  • Be sure to brew the espresso over the peanut butter, light brown sugar, and salt to allow the heat from the espresso to melt the ingredients together. Then simply stir the espresso mixture until it becomes completely smooth!
  • The marshmallow cold foam with nutter butter crumbs on top is optional, but it does make for a fun, elevated latte experience!

How To Make A Latte Without An Espresso Machine

If you’re into espresso-based drinks, I’d highly recommend investing in an espresso machine. We have this low-maintenance Espresso Machine, and we love using Lavazza Espresso with it.

However, if you need a few more recipes to make the investment worth it, there are still plenty of ways to make espresso-based drinks without a machine:

  • Nespresso – A Nespresso machine uses pre-portioned pods for an easy-to-brew espresso.
  • Instant Espresso – TikTok has been going crazy lately for the use of instant espresso! Try Nescaf Gold Espresso, Cafe Bustelo Espresso, or even Starbucks Instant Espresso.
  • Brewed Espresso – Check your local stores for brewed espresso concentrate.
  • Dark Roast Coffee – Brew a strong, dark roast coffee to replace the shots of espresso.
