Honey Lemonade Recipe Ingredients

  • Lemons – I find that this recipe takes about 8 to 10 lemons to make a batch of Honey Lemonade. Be sure to clean the lemons before using them! To clean them, rinse each lemon under running cool water while rubbing away any visible dirt. For a more thorough clean, you can scrub them with a soft bristled vegetable brush. To extract as much juice from your lemons as possible, you can roll them on the counter using your palm with firm pressure to help loosen them up before slicing into them!
  • Honey – The overall flavor of this homemade lemonade will depend on the kind of honey that you use. I prefer using a wildflower or fruit blossom honey, such as orange or blackberry!
  • Water – Ice cold so you can enjoy a tall glass of Honey Lemonade right away!

How To Make Lemonade With Honey

  1. Prepare the Honey Simple Syrup in advance, if possible.
  2. Combine cooled homemade honey simple syrup with lemon juice and water in a large pitcher.
  3. Stir to combine the ingredients.
  4. Serve and enjoy!

Rebecca’s Tips

  • If possible, prepare the honey simple syrup ahead of time to give it plenty of time to cool. This will also make whipping up a batch of Honey Lemonade even easier!
    • To make honey simple syrup, combine 3/4 cup of honey with 3/4 cup of water in a small saucepan. Then heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the honey has completely dissolved and the simple syrup begins to simmer. Cool before using!
  • Control the sweetness and honey flavor in your lemonade! To do so, add as much or as little homemade honey simple syrup as you want until the flavor of the lemonade reaches your desired balance of tart and sweet.

Honey Lemonade Recipe Variations

  • Honey Ginger Lemonade – Add fresh peeled ginger to the simple syrup and let it simmer for a few extra minutes.
  • Jack Daniels Honey Lemonade – Add a shot of Jack for an alcoholic version.
  • Honey Lemonade Soda – Replace half the water with club soda.
  • Muddling Herbs – Use a muddler to mash up herbs like mint, basil, rosemary, or even cilantro in the bottom of your glass. Then pour the Honey Lemonade on top and enjoy!
  • Honey Lavender Lemonade – Add a splash of Lavender Simple Syrup for a Honey Lavender Lemonade.
  • Fresh Berries – Muddle up some fresh berries to add a fruity pulp to your glass of lemonade.
