If you’re looking for an easy, cheap, and fun activity for the kiddos, try making this DIY Bath Paint for Kids! It takes just 5 minutes to make with three ingredients you probably already have on hand!

Kids love making messes! It’s part of how they learn, experiment, and test boundaries! Well, even parents will love this easy to clean Bath Paint made with just 3 ingredients you likely already have in your pantry!

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been trying to come up with new, easy, and cheap ways to entertain my toddler! And since we’re trying not to make special trips to the store, I’ve been trying to use things that we already have here at home! This Bath Paint for Toddlers was so easy to make and my daughter had a blast playing with it!

What’s In It?

The “paint” mixture is made with baby/kids shampoo and cornstarch. I use Honest Company Sweet Orange Vanilla Baby Wash because it smells amazing and it’s what we use anyway, but you can use whatever kind you want!

You’ll also want to use some food coloring. I used this set of Neon Food Coloring – I only needed one to two drops of color for 1/2 cup of the mixture. You could also use Nature’s Inspirations Food Coloring that’s made from plants.

How To Make It:

This part is super easy, you’re simply just going to mix the two main ingredients together. Then you can divide it up into dishes or containers and mix in the food coloring.

I like using these Plastic Jars with Lids because I don’t have to worry about breaking if my daughter drops it and I can easily seal up whatever remains for another time!

Will It Stain?

As I said before, I only used 1 or 2 drops for each color and we did not experience any staining on the bath or skin, but there is always a chance that any fabric could stain, so use old clothes or use them in the actual bath. 🙂

Does It Clean Off Easily?

Yes, it does! It will sort of harden/stick after it’s been painted on, but a damp towel takes it right off – plus it’s made with soap, so it’s a great activity to do if you have to clean the tub anyway 😉

How Long Does It Last?

If you don’t use it all at once, you can store it in an air-tight jar for up to 1 month.

I love this easy DIY activity because anyone can make it, you don’t have to have a crafty bone in your body to enjoy some creative playtime with your kiddos! You can use Paint Brushes or you can have the kids use their fingers!

This would make a great DIY party favor or activity for birthday parties! Seriously, this is such a fun thing to do – my daughter absolutely loved it!
