Burger Sauce
Burger Sauce is an easy and delicious condiment recipe made with mayo, ketchup, mustard, relish, and spices that add so much flavor to any burger, sandwich, or even fries!

Homemade Burger Sauce
Skip the traditional ketchup and mustard combo because this Burger Sauce Recipe is the only “special sauce” you’ll ever need to up your homemade burger game and have everyone asking for the recipe!
What Is Burger Sauce?
Most places call it special, house, or secret sauce. And the ingredients can vary from restaurant to restaurant. But generally, Burger Sauce is a creamy orange sauce made with a ketchup and mayonnaise base, spices, and additional mix-ins.
We’ve all heard of McDonald’s Big Mac Sauce (which might just be Thousand Island dressing), and Chick-fil-a Sauce, and many other places serve up their variation of the popular condiment as well. Not to mention every condiment company seems to have launched a Burger Sauce product in the last year.
But this version is what I believe to be the best signature sauce for burgers and beyond! It’s cheap and easy to make and tastes incredibly delicious too! I also really love it on our Burger Bowls recipe and for dipping Garbage Bread in!
Rebecca’s Recipe Review
Taste: A touch of heat thanks to the sriracha and smoked paprika and a vinegar zing from the ketchup and pickles.
Texture: Creamy.
Ease: 2/10
Pros: Made in 5 minutes or less using pantry staple spices and common condiments you likely already have on hand!
Cons: For best flavor, this sauce should chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Would I Make This Again? Yes, this is a family favorite burger topping!

How To Make The Best Burger Sauce
This recipe is incredibly easy, and you can make it in advance to let the flavor build! This sauce adds so much flavor to your burger, I promise you won’t be sorry!
- Add mayonnaise, ketchup, sriracha, dijon mustard, relish, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to a small bowl.
- Whisk or stir together the ingredients until fully combined.
- Cover and store in the fridge for at least 2 hours and up to 2 weeks. Serve on burgers, sandwiches, and more!

Burger Sauce Substitutions
Relish: I prefer a tangy dill relish in this sauce, but if you already have a sweet pickle relish in the fridge, that will work just as well.
Mustard: Dijon gives this sauce a bit more spice than traditional yellow mustard, but using the yellow variety will still make a delicious sauce.
Paprika: I love using smoked paprika in this recipe because it provides a wonderful pop of heat. However, if you only have traditional paprika, that will work too. You can always add 1/4 teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper for spice if needed.
Is Homemade Burger Sauce Vegan?
No, it’s not. It’s made with mayonnaise which is made from eggs. However, you could use a Vegan Mayo to make it so.

I didn’t have relish and just used some straight up pickle juice. 😅 This sauce is fantastic and I haven’t even put it on our burger bowls yet!

Hello, can you please suggest a substitute for relish dill? Thank you.
You could substitute another kind of relish or finely chopped pickles.
This sauce was really good! Even with fries! I will definitely make again! 🙂 Thanks!
I tried this recipe for my burgers, so good!
