Ham and Cheese Sliders
Need another recipe to round out your game day spread? Look no further! These hot Ham and Cheese Sliders will conquer hunger and cravings as you cheer on your favorite team!
While you only need a few components to make these mini sandwiches (which is good news for busy hosts!), they bring sweet and savory flavors together to hit all the right notes.
I’m excited McKenzie Natural Artisan Deli is sponsoring today’s post so I can share this super tasty game day recipe or easy dinner idea with all of you! All opinions are 100% my own.
You see, the secret is in the ham; choose a quality brand with the right amount of sweet and smokiness, and it’ll become the star ingredient!
While at Shaw’s stocking up on game day snacks and supplies, I headed to the deli counter to choose a mouthwatering meat that would make my Ham and Cheese Sliders a crowd favorite.
Here’s the kicker: I’m normally not a huge fan of ham, so I figured if I liked it, everyone else would, too! Even though there were dozens of options, I headed straight for the McKenzie Natural Artisan Deli meats and cheeses because of how the company crafts their products.
Not only are they made right here in New England, (Vermont, to be exact), their meats are only made with high-quality whole muscle meat and never contain hormones or antibiotics.
It’s no surprise that I like things a little sweet, so naturally, I chose their Honey Uncured Ham to put in my Ham and Cheese Sliders! This meat is the perfect mix of salty and sweet, and after taking a bite, I instantly wanted more.
When I paired it with the brand’s Vermont Maple Smoked Cheddar cheese, I knew I’d found the right artisan cheese to compliment the honey ham.
If you want to steer away from things getting too sweet, the honey ham also tastes delicious with McKenzie Natural Artisan Deli Swiss cheese. After all, who said finger food can’t be gourmet?
To assemble these tasty little Ham and Cheese Sliders, simply layer the meat and cheese onto soft miniature rolls. Pop the bite-sized sandwiches into the oven for a few minutes until the cheese starts to melt, and serve them hot!
The combination of ooey gooey maple cheese, honey ham, and steaming bread is not only irresistible, it’s a substantial snack that’ll help keep guests’ energy up (and hunger pangs down), even if the game goes into overtime.
Oh, and did I mention these go great with a frosty mug of beer?
You may want to prepare multiple batches of Ham and Cheese Sliders because fans of all ages will be eager to dig in!
And with one taste of these smoky, melty sliders, no one will be able to just have one.
Since this crave-worthy recipe is both yummy and easy to prepare, you may find yourself making Ham and Cheese Sliders for every big game!
How To Make Ham and Cheese Sliders:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and spray a 9 x 13-inch pan with cooking spray.
- Slice rolls like you would a burger bun and place bottom half in the pan and set the top half aside.
- In a small bowl, stir together the mustard and mayo and spread out on the bottom half of the rolls.
- Add 10 1/2 slices of the McKenzie Artisan Vermont Maple Smoked Cheddar Cheese to cover the mayo and mustard mixture, layer with slices of McKenzie Artisan Honey Uncured Ham and add the remaining 10 1/2 slices of cheese on top of the ham. Place the top half of the rolls back on top of the sliders.
- Whisk together melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and poppy seeds. Use a basting brush to brush the mixture evenly over the top of the rolls.
- Cover with aluminum foil and let sit for 10 minutes, transfer to the oven and bake for 10 minutes with aluminum foil on, remove aluminum foil and bake for another 5 minutes.
- Remove from oven and enjoy hot.

Notes About This Recipe:
- For the ham, you can get it sliced or shaved (easier to pull apart), just be sure to try and cover the rolls with an even layer.
- Swiss Cheese may be used in place of cheddar.
- Feel free to use half the cheese (how my husband prefers these) if only doing one layer of cheese, I recommend doing it as the top layer so that it melts down into the ham.
- Mayonnaise and mustard can be left off or swapped out for another preferred condiment.
- Make sure never to reheat sliders after initial baking if using mayonnaise because it could cause you to get sick.
