So… Valentine’s Day is a week away… how in the heck did that happen? Weren’t we just mixing up this New Year’s Eve Champagne Punch?

Speaking of that bubbly and delicious punch, we bought a bottle of Chambord to make it and I promised all of you that there would be more recipes coming to use it up! Well, here we are.

This Rosé Berry Sangria is the perfect batch cocktail to serve up this Valentine’s Day!

What do you have planned for Valentine’s Day? Anything fun? Anyone hosting a Galentine’s Day get-together? Make sure this sangria gets an invite to the party too! As for me, I have no special plans, Valentine’s Day has really just become another day in our house.

It’s not for lack of love, but we work a ton and hate crowds, and usually take out and an old romantic comedy are about as exciting as it gets over here!

But maybe I’ll whip up another batch of this sangria because I love it so much, Matt won’t drink any of it, but that’s fine by me, the house is stocked up with enough gin and bourbon to keep him quiet 😉

I’ve never been a wine drinker, every now and then I might enjoy a bottle from the local winery which my California friends call “hard cranberry juice” <<< that’s probably why I like it.

However, when I do have a glass, I usually prefer a rosé. Rosé or blush wines are made from black grapes, but they don’t funny turn red because the skins are removed a few hours into the winemaking process, leaving just a touch of color.

But when it comes to sangria, I’m not too picky, I believe a good sangria can be made with any wine, it’s just about making sure you have all the right components. For me, sangria has to have five key ingredients and you can get creative as long as you have your formula:

Wine + Bubbles + Brandy + Fruit Liqueur + Fresh Fruit = SANGRIA!

Plus, there’s one other important ingredient you can’t forget and that’s TIME, it’s so important to let a sangria chill for a couple of hours before consuming so all those flavors can mix!

For this particular sangria recipe, I wanted to embody that loving feeling of Valentine’s Day, pulling out all the reds and purples and pinks!

This recipe uses a base of rosé wine and is amplified by some blackberry brandy and Chambord (black raspberry liqueur), fresh strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries add essential juices to the mix and it’s topped off with a bit of lemon-lime soda such as Sierra Mist for a bubbly finish.
