Ingredients to make Christmas Chex Snack Mix on a red table.

Christmas Chex Mix Ingredients

  • Rice Chex Cereal (or Corn Chex Cereal)
  • Holiday-Shaped Pretzels
  • White Chocolate Melting Wafers
  • Heath Toffee Bits
  • Holiday M&Ms
  • Mini Dehydrated Marshmallows
  • Holiday Sprinkles

Fun & Tasty Variations To Try!

  • Use Your Favorite M&Ms – I chose to use milk chocolate M&Ms but feel free to choose your favorite! Peanuts, white chocolate pretzels, or peanut butter M&Ms would all be tasty additions!
  • Pretzel Choice – If you can’t find the Utz holiday pretzels (affiliate link) you can use mini pretzels. Pretzel sticks also work but you may want to break them in half!
  • Add Some Salty Flavor – For a saltier flavor, you can add in peanuts or sprinkle the mix with sea salt as it sets up!
  • More Mix-Ins – You could also add in some mix-ins once the snack mix has set! Things like mini peanut butter cups, snow caps, mini marshmallows, and chocolate-covered raisins, would all add delicious contrasting flavor!
  • Make It For Any Holiday – Though this recipe is geared toward Christmas you can totally make it for any holiday! Just simply grab sprinkles and colored M&Ms with the matching color theme to the holiday. For example, red and pink M&Ms and sprinkles for Valentine’s Day!

The cereal, M&Ms, heath toffee bits, and mini dehydrated marshmallows are all gluten-free. You will need to grab a bag of gluten-free pretzels and be sure to use gluten-free white chocolate melting wafers.

Snyder’s brand carries gluten-free pretzels and Ghirardelli’s white chocolate melting wafers are also gluten-free!

We make versions of this snack mix all the time for our family movie nights. We don’t enjoy Chex but we love Cinnamon Toast Crunch, so that is what I often use and it works perfectly. With this recipe, it worked great with the white chocolate. I also added some toasted pecans and dried cranberries as well as chocolate covered raisins. Such a tasty treat!

  2. cant find dehydrated marshmallows, can i use mini ones instead
