How Do You Make Applesauce?
This Crockpot Applesauce Recipe is really easy to make and only calls for 6 ingredients, which are simmered in a crockpot for 6 to 7 hours until they break down and reduce to a sauce that’s perfectly sweetened as spiced.
Homemade Applesauce consists of tangy Granny Smith apples, white and brown sugars, vanilla extract, cinnamon sticks, and a squeeze of lemon juice for a zesty kick.
The finished product is full of warm, nostalgic flavors… it tastes like a scratch-made apple pie filling!
I prefer my applesauce to be a bit hearty, but if you like yours really smooth, almost like apple butter, I recommend using a stick blender to blend it after it’s done cooking.
Slow Cooker Applesauce makes a tasty snack, but it’s also perfect for dessert. Eaten hot or cold, you can even serve it up with a dollop of whipped cream, or try it á la mode!
If you head to the orchard this year and want a simple and delicious way to enjoy your fresh apples, make this easy applesauce recipe — your whole family will love it!
