Homemade Applesauce

In light of this week’s heat wave, it’s hard to believe that fall is just around the corner. But once the season of apple picking and foliage rolls around, you’ll be glad to have this delicious and easy Homemade Applesauce recipe on hand!

Apple picking is one of those traditions I try to do every year. There’s nothing like the crisp taste of apples right off the tree, and it just doesn’t feel like fall until I’ve headed to the orchard on a cool day.

JUST TAKE ME TO THE APPLESAUCE RECIPE ALREADY!

If you’d rather skip my (very helpful, I think) tips and tricks, essential cooking info, and similar recipe ideas – and get straight to this deliciously easy Best Ever APPLESAUCE Recipe – simply scroll to the bottom of the page where you can find the printable recipe card.

Not to mention, apples inspire some of the yummiest recipes of the season! I always pick a peck or two so I can make a few different dishes to share with friends and family.

One of the best ways to enjoy freshly picked apples is to whip up a batch of sweet and cinnamon-filled applesauce, and luckily, it’s super easy to make!

Plus, it’s a great way to use up all your fruit before it goes bad and tastes amazing with pork chops.

How To Make Applesauce in the Slow Cooker

How Do You Make Applesauce?

This Crockpot Applesauce Recipe is really easy to make and only calls for 6 ingredients, which are simmered in a crockpot for 6 to 7 hours until they break down and reduce to a sauce that’s perfectly sweetened as spiced.

Homemade Applesauce consists of tangy Granny Smith apples, white and brown sugars, vanilla extract, cinnamon sticks, and a squeeze of lemon juice for a zesty kick.

The finished product is full of warm, nostalgic flavors… it tastes like a scratch-made apple pie filling!

I prefer my applesauce to be a bit hearty, but if you like yours really smooth, almost like apple butter, I recommend using a stick blender to blend it after it’s done cooking.
