Red Russian Cocktail

It’s the best time of year to eat, drink, and be merry, and this festive recipe focuses on that second part: drink! (After all, a cocktail or two will definitely help you be more “merry”!) For a simple mixed drink that’s tasty and full of holiday cheer, try serving this Red Russian Cocktail at your next holiday party!

Red Russian Cocktail

As a hostess, I always look for dishes and drinks that can either be prepared ahead of time or made quickly and easily after guests have arrived. After all, the point of throwing a party with all your loved ones isn’t to spend the whole time in the kitchen — it’s to enjoy your company. That’s why I love making these Red Russians when the party’s at my house. With just two ingredients, I’m able to serve a boozy signature cocktail that’s as red and shiny as a Christmas ornament!

How to make red russian cocktail

To make Red Russian Cocktails, simply mix equal parts cherry liqueur and vodka for a fruity beverage that’ll get everyone buzzin’! If cherry isn’t your thing, you can swap it out for strawberry schnapps, cranberry juice, or even tomato juice instead.

Whatever you use, you can pour these two ingredients into a punch bowl for easy self-serving, and when you run out, it can be refilled it in 30 seconds flat! Not throwing a party? Simply stir the two liquids together over ice in a short glass!

Easy Cocktail Recipes - Red Russian

Since Red Russian Cocktails are so simple, I like to provide guests with a few different garnish options, like Maraschino cherries, raspberries, strawberries, or orange slices. And don’t forget the toothpicks or plastic swords! This bright red beverage looks beautiful in glass goblets with gold or green accents, which compliment the drink’s festive color. It’s like the holidays in a glass!

During a time of year that’s packed with tasks like decorating, cooking, and cleaning the house for company, Red Russian Cocktails are one of the easiest mixed drinks you can prepare. You’ll be able to spend less time mixing and more time mingling when you serve this delicious drink at your next party!

This looks like a great cocktail for so many holidays: Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving. And I love a versatile cocktail recipe!

This looks like a fun and super easy cocktail for these warmer months approaching! Can’t wait to try it out 🙂 Thanks for the cocktail inspiration!

  6. I wonder how it would be to create a non alcoholic version of this. I love cherry flavor and think it might be nice for that. There is a very popular non alcoholic apple drink made with apple juice, non alcoholic beer etc.

    1. Hi Roxana, I’m not sure since this cocktail is made with two alcoholic beverages and that’s it, making it non-alcoholic would be making an entirely different drink.
