Virgin Espresso Martini Ingredients
The ingredients for a non alcoholic espresso martini are short and sweet, making it simple to mix up and enjoy anytime! All you need is brewed espresso, simple syrup, ice, and coffee beans for an optional garnish on top!
Italian Iced Coffee Shopping List
- Drink Shaker – One with a strainer will be the most useful!
- Espresso Coffee – I use Lavazza Super Crema.
- Espresso Machine – I use my Breville Machine. However, you can use a Nespresso, an AeroPress, or even instant espresso.
- Simple Syrup – Buy it or Make Your Own Sugar Syrup at Home.
How To Make A Caffe Shakerato
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
- Pour a double shot of espresso and simple syrup into the shaker.
- Cover the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
- Strain the Italian Shaken Espresso into a martini glass or coupe glass, shaking to get as much foam out as possible—you can also spoon the foam in.
- Garnish with coffee beans and enjoy!
Rebecca’s Espresso Martini Tips
- You can control the sweetness of this Italian-style shaken iced coffee by adjusting the amount of simple syrup that’s used.
- Make sure to use a hot espresso shot! The heat from the espresso and the cold from the ice is what will give you a nice creamy froth after shaking.
- No coffee shaker? No problem. Using a jar with a tight lid will also get the job done.
- If you prefer, you can use granulated sugar in place of simple syrup.
- Chill the serving glass in the freezer for 15 minutes to keep the drink colder longer.
- For an alcoholic twist, you can add in a coffee-flavored liqueur.
Non Alcoholic Espresso Martini Variations
- Mix up the flavor of your Caffee Shakerato by swapping the plain simple syrup for a flavored one! Vanilla simple syrup or Brown Sugar Simple Syrup would both be great options!
- For a fruity flair, try using Blueberry Simple Syrup or Strawberry Simple Syrup.
- Add orange or lemon zest or Orange Simple Syrup for a citrusy twist on this espresso drink!
- If you’re a fan of mocha, you can incorporate Chocolate Syrup.
- Top your Italian Shaken Espresso with Whipped Cream for a Shakerato Con Panna variation.
- To enjoy a creamier Virgin Espresso Martini, you can add in some cold frothed milk.
