No Halloween party is complete without a ghoulishly red bowl of Shrunken Head Party Punch — topped, of course, with a handful of bobbing “heads”!

I love this recipe because it serves two purposes: one, it allows guests to serve themselves a tasty drink, and two, it’s an awesome piece of spooky décor! Plus, this Party Punch is the perfect refreshment to share with adults and kids, alike.

If you’re planning on hosting a family-friendly shindig, let your kids lend a hand in sculpting the heads, which can easily be done with a small spoon. No sharp objects for the little ones, please!

Or if you’re throwing a bash for grown-ups, consider spiking this stuff with a little rum so your guests can enjoy a little BOO-ze. (Get it?!)

How To Make Party Punch:

Now, you may be wondering what exactly is in this Halloween Punch. To mix up a pleasant potion, simply combine cranberry, orange, and apple juices, lemon-lime soda, a splash of grenadine, and ice.

I kept this recipe simple so it was kid friendly and let the shrunken heads shine, but feel free to add sliced fruit and gummy worms!

How To Make Shrunken Heads From Apples:

And now for the freaky finale: the heads! Peel Granny Smith apples (or any other apple really), carve frightening faces, and bake! Your “heads” will dry out as they’re cooking in the oven, so yes, they’re literally shrunken.

The best part is, these shrunken heads float so everyone can see your creepy craftsmanship! They also add a touch of crisp Granny Smith flavor to the punch.

When people see your Shrunken Head Party Punch, get ready to hear, “How did you DO that?!”

If this punch isn’t quite what you’re looking for, you could add these shrunken heads to any batch-sized beverage. They’re a fun addition to Crock Pot Apple Cider and mulled wine!

If you’re trying to set the macabre mood when the holiday festivities begin — whether silly or truly scary — this Halloween Punch is a must-have for your snack table. Serve it in a large bowl with a ladle and a stack of cups… better make them plastic to be on the safe side!

Shrunken Head Party Punch is a fun, festive refreshment to serve guests of all ages this Halloween! Whether served plain or spiked, it makes a great conversation starter at any costume party. Don’t forget to put on the Ultimate Halloween Party Playlist if you’re hosting!

How many days in advance can I dry the apples? And how should I store them? I need them Saturday, I’d like to make them on Wednesday?

Hi Pam, since these apples are meant to look “aged” I think that should be fine and I would store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
