Apple Cider Mojito Cocktail Recipe
This Apple Cider Mojito recipe is my new favorite cocktail for fall! Spiced, vibrant, and slightly sweet, it has all the flavors of a classic rum mojito plus a hefty pour of apple cider.

The Best Fall Cocktail
This sweet and spiced Apple Cider Mojito is the perfect cocktail recipe for early autumn. Served in glasses with ice, you can savor the best fall flavors while the days are still warm.
Even better, this tasty Apple Mojito recipe is super easy to make — you won’t even need a cocktail shaker! It does require some muddling, but if you don’t have a muddler, a wooden spoon handle will do the trick. 😉
Make these after a day of apple picking, then kick back, relax, and sip some cider, rum, and spice! This also makes a great signature cocktail to serve up for Thanksgiving!

Apple Cider Mojito Ingredients
- Fresh mint leaves – This classic mojito ingredient is muddled with lime.
- Lime wedges – Fresh lime juice adds a bright, citrusy flavor.
- Simple syrup – For an extra dose of sweetness. Try making this easy Simple Syrup recipe!
- White rum – The traditional way to spike a mojito.
- Apple cider – For deep apple flavor that tastes like fall.
- Club soda – To add a touch of sparkle.
Apple Cocktail Garnishes
- Apple Slices – Feel free to use red, yellow, or green apples for garnish.
- Cinnamon stick – It looks good and adds more spiced flavor.
- Sugared rim – Go nuts and dip the glass rims in cinnamon and sugar for a tasty touch!
- Mint sprigs – If you have extra mint, it also makes a colorful garnish.
Substitutions & Variations
- Apple juice – In a pinch, this can be subbed for apple cider (but it’s not as good)!
- Dark rum – You can sub dark rum for white rum. It’ll deviate from the classic mojito flavor, but sweet, spiced rum pairs well with cider.

How To Make an Apple Mojito
- Muddle the mint and lime wedges in the bottom of a tall glass.
- Pour in lime juice, simple syrup, rum and apple cider.

3. Fill the glass almost all the way to the top with crushed ice and stir with a bar spoon.

4. Top off the drink with a splash of club soda. Then garnish and serve with a straw.

Alcohol That Mixes Well Apple Cider
Apple cider tastes delicious with almost all liquors, thanks to its spicy-sweet flavor! Some combinations to try:
- Add whiskey or dark rum and serve it hot.
- Mix with pumpkin beer for a shandy.
- Use tequila for apple cider margaritas.
- Make some apple cider sangria.
- Try an apple cider martini.
- Combine with champagne for a bellini.
What is muddling?
Muddling means mashing up ingredients (usually fresh herbs, berries, or fruit) to release their flavor. Usually, it’s the first step in making a cocktail because the items are muddled in the bottom of the glass.
You can use a muddling tool, but the handle of a wooden spoon works fine, too.

Pour Another Fall Cocktail Recipe!
- Apple Crumble Cocktail – This spiced rum cocktail is like dessert in a glass.
- Apple Pimm’s Cup – Mix up a pitcher with sparkling cider and Pimm’s fruity gin!
- Campfire S’mores Hot Chocolate Cocktail – Sip this rich, whiskey-spiked drink by the fire pit this fall.
- Crock Pot Ginger Rum Apple Cider – Perfect for a crowd, this is a good one to make for get-togethers!
- Pomegranate Cider – Served hot, you can choose to spike it or keep it non-alcoholic for the family.

After having an apple cider mojito at a restaurant, I looked up this recipe. I ran out last night and bought all the ingredients. This was really great and refreshing! It was a little too “limey” for me, so I might cut back a little on the lime the next time I make one. That would be tonight! 🙂
