These Champagne Jello Shots are made with champagne, ginger ale, lemon juice, sugar, and gelatin and are so easy to whip up for your New Year’s Eve and other celebrations!
Champagne Jello Shots
GUYS! Jello shots just got a fancy new makeover! Now that we’re all grown up, or at least, we pretend to be and occasionally wish we weren’t, it’s time to trade out the toga parties for Oscar parties and vodka for champagne! Yep, Champagne Jello Shots are a thing!
Champagne takes these youthful party shots and gives them a classy vibe, plus gold stars can make anything glamorous, right?
These Champagne Jello Shots also make a quick, easy, and delicious addition to New Year’s Eve parties and Bachelorette Parties!
They’re made with champagne, lemon juice, ginger ale, sugar, and gelatin for a light and simply flavored shot!
How To Make Jello Shots:
- Add champagne, sugar, and lemon juice to a medium saucepan. Sprinkle with the gelatin and allow to bloom for 3 minutes, do not stir.
- Once the gelatin has bloomed, heat the mixture over medium-low heat and whisk until the gelatin has dissolved. Do not let the mixture boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in the ginger ale, let carbonation fizz out and then evenly pour into shot glasses or small plastic cups and refrigerate for at least 2 to 3 hours until set.
- Sprinkle with edible gold stars just before serving.
How Long Does it Take for Jello Shots to Set in the Fridge?
This depends on a few things such as the size of the shot and the temperature or your fridge. I usually make 1-ounce shots and they take about 2 hours to set in my fridge at 37 degrees F.
One of the things I love most about these champagne jello shots is that they’re only 18 calories each, perfect as we get ready to enter a new year filled with healthy resolutions. Make them up a few days in advance if you’d like!
Things You’ll Need for this Jello Shot Recipe:
- Containers – I like using these condiment containers that have lids for easy storing, transport, and disposal.
- Star Sprinkles – Make these champagne jello shots stand out with this fun edible stars!
- Unflavored Gelatin – You can’t make these jello shots without unflavored gelatin!

How many shits does one recipe make?

I’m assuming you meant “shots” haha, it makes about 20 1-ounce shots.

So fun!!!
Virgil says
Just attempted the recipe and there is way too much gelatin. I put in 2- 1 oz packets of gelatin into the boiling water and it solidified into gelatin bricks within seconds. We tried to add in the ginger ale / champagne and it is a foamy mess. Should we add the gelatin after mixing the champagne and ginger ale instead? Other recipes for champagne Jell-O shots are calling for 1/2 to 1/3 the amount of gelatin.
Rebecca Hubbell says
Oh my goodness, Virgil, that’s supposed to be only 2 .25 ounce packets. I recently covered all my recipes over to a new program and some of the fractions didn’t convert well. I’m going to get this corrected and I’m so sorry for the inconvenience!
Hilary says
You say not to use molds, but what about cookie cutters? Or is it just not going to be solid enough?
Rebecca Hubbell says
I’ve never tried it with cutters, but it would likely work better than molds, some of the molds just have very small detailed areas, like the points of a star and the jello can get stuck in them.
