This Christmas Sangria is made with red wine, fruit juices, brandy, soda, and fruit for a delicious big-batch cocktail that’s perfect for parties.
If you’re looking for a signature drink for a seasonal bash, I have two words for you: Christmas Sangria.
Having a big bowl of boozy punch or a serve-yourself mixed drink makes toasting easy. This is especially true when you have a house full of holiday guests.
After all, the point is to spend time mingling, not pouring drinks!
What Is In Sangria?
Well, honestly, this truly varies based on who’s making the recipe and what kind of sangria they feel like making. Generally, it includes wine and fruit. Commonly, you’ll also find brandy, soda, sweetener, juice, and even the occasional hard liquor.
What Type of Brandy Do You Use In Sangria?
This depends on the flavor profile you’re going for. My go-to brandy flavors are apricot and blackberry, but you could use a ginger, apple, cherry, whatever you’re feeling like that’s compatible with the rest of your ingredients.
How Do You Make Sangria?
It’s one of the easiest cocktails you can make because it makes a huge batch and you pretty much just have to cut up your fruits and throw all the ingredients together in a pitcher and chill for a few hours.
Sangria only gets better with time, so if you let it chill overnight, you’re going to have some killer flavors on your hands! ust make sure you don’t add the ice or carbonated components until just before you’re ready to serve!
This Holiday Sangria is filled with lots of scrumptious seasonal flavors. Cranberry and orange juice are tangy and fruity, and lemon-lime soda adds a little sparkle.
This festive punch is spiked with three different kinds of booze to really get things buzzing! Red wine, blackberry brandy, and raspberry liqueur give this cocktail one heck of a kick.
(Needless to say … be careful!)
Aside from its yummy flavor and easy-serve style, I love this Christmas Sangria because it’s festive and beautiful! And you know what they say: it’s all about the presentation.
Speaking of which, I must mention that setting up a pretty drink table is an easy way to impress guests. You’re going to want to take out the fancy drink dispenser for this one.
In my opinion, nothing makes a signature sangria more tantalizing than serving it in a glass container. Add a few orange slices and it’ll be picture perfect.
Of course, this is also a great excuse to bring out your festive cocktail glasses and straws. (During the holiday season, I like to use drinkware with gold accents!)
And let’s not forget that a fancy drink isn’t complete without a few garnishes! Citrus wedges, cinnamon sticks, and fresh sprigs of mint or rosemary put the finishing touches on each yummy glass.
The holidays are a time to be merry and bright, and nothing warms the spirit better than Christmas Sangria! Easy to make, serve, and even easier to drink, try whipping up this crimson cocktail for your guests this season!
